Fire at Pelican Eyes contained by community effort At about 9:30 am on Sunday June third a fire broke out in one of the houses at Pelican Eyes. What could have been a disaster turned into a community effort that saved most of the belongings and the residence of Dan Polley and Cesar Paniamogan, who were not at home. There were minor injuries to several Pelican Eyes employees who responded heroically, as did many locals, the volunteer fire department and police. A letter , submitted by Pelican Eyes' Chris Berry, describes the incident, the response, and his gratitude. |
