They estimate that over the years, about 2,000 books have not been returned after the lending period has expired (typically one week). That’s a lot of books for this library.

The Biblioteca Movil has always had a policy of lending books to locals and visitors alike. It would be a sad day if they were forced to have to change the lending rules as the whole concept is to encourage reading. They would like everybody to check their bookshelves and return any books belonging to the library or come down with the book(s) and update the card index.

They do have records of which books are out there and who has got them but do not have the resources to chase 2,000 books. Come on people bring em back.
