Sorry but this time it wasn’t a Gringo!

In the afternoon of Saturday 28th of April a dump truck was delivering a load to a new development on the Chocolate, the road north of San Juan Del Sur. For some unknown reason, the driver left the site and traveled north with the bed of the dump truck in the raised position. After cutting several power cables stretched across the road and pulling over several actual power poles, the truck hit some low hanging trees. The driver finally came to a stop and realized what he had done when a branch from one of the trees came down and smashed into his windshield.

Several homes were without power for a few hours but full credit to Union Fenosa (the power company) who came out on the Saturday afternoon of Labour Day weekend to fix the problem and restore power to the affected homes.
