Escamequita Clinic

Work has begun on the new health clinic located in Escamequita, 10 minutes south of San Juan del Sur. Funded by Global Health Cares (GHC), the clinic will initially be open Monday through Friday as soon as the renovations to the building are complete. The clinic operating by the end of May is very realistic. Dr. Eduardo Flores of Rivas has been hired as the full-time Doctor on staff. GHC’s hope is to eventually have the clinic open 7 days a week with the hiring of another part-time Doctor.

With an opening budget of $5000 already donated for this project, there will be a new security fence, new lighting, plumbing etc. San Juan del Sur’s Mayor Eduardo Holmann has donated all the paint needed for the building. GHC has, in storage, all the medical equipment for the clinic. There will be a pharmacy on site and in the near future a medical lab as well.
