continued from san juan del sur HOME It was a rapid build, with most of the time spent raising the lot to make it level with access road. Once that was done, an army of workers erected the store quicker than a bunch of kids with a new Lego land kit.
Saturday 29th December was
the official opening and a lot of people came out to see what the fuss
was about. I snuck in with Dan & Cesar who were looking for some
action shots while I snooped through some shopping carts to see what
people were buying. However; Dan was captured within minutes by the

In March 2006 they improved their interest in a Central American retailer to 51% and changed its name from CARHCO to Wal-Mart Central America. It currently has 38 Pali and 6 La Union stores in Nicaragua. Wal-Mart Nicaragua
supports “Tierra Fertil”, a program that assists over 600
producers in learning new agricultural techniques. In September 2007,
Wal-Mart Nicaragua activated the program “Hand to Hand“
(Mano a Mano,) and collected 16 tons of groceries, medicine, and clothing
for people of the Caribbean Coast affected by Hurricane Felix.
