Cruiseship resumes regular call at San Juan port

One of three vessels from Windstar Cruises, the “Wind Star” is once again making a regular stop in SJdS this season. Starting in Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica (about 18 km southeast of the port city of Puntarenas, it comes up to San Juan del Sur for the day via Playas del Coco (CR) before returning to Costa Rican waters for a few days. Holding a maximum of 148 passengers and 88 crew members, this sail and motor power cruise ship is always a favorite amongst locals and tourists when it comes in and anchors here. This vessel is known as an MSY, (Masted-Sail Yacht). The sails take only two minutes to unfurl and its all done from the bridge at the touch of a button. Watch out for its departure just after sunset (on Mondays) as it lights up like a Christmas tree, sets sail (at the touch of a button) and glides slowly out of the harbor heading south. “It’s a beautiful thing”
