Called Marea Alta (High Tide) the new community will sit just a half mile from town and will be built “right on the water”. Exact plans are still being drawn up, and will include detached and semi-detached, one, two and three bedroom units. Some of the homes will be “waterfront”. Complementing the accommodation will be an elegant restaurant, pool and plenty of areas to relax and enjoy the views described in a news release by co-developer Chris Berry as “Simply the most breathtaking in southern Nicaragua”.

Alex Wilson (Innovative Resort Group) told me “This has been one of the hardest things to keep quiet, I am so excited about this project and I am very happy that it has been announced”.

In keeping with the successful partnership of Pelican Eyes...Piedras y Olas Hotel & Resort and the A. Jean Brugger Foundation, Marea Alta will also support the foundation and the spirit of giving back to the people of San Juan del Sur.
