6th Annual Panga Fishing Tournament was a huge success. Under perfect weather conditions, nearly 50 pangas from in and around San Juan del Sur took part in the tournament held on Saturday November 10th. The new fish terminal was the ideal venue for the event, enabling the crowd of almost 500 people to enjoy the event in comfort with a great view of the weigh in. The continued generosity of the sponsors has ensured that this tournament has become firmly established as one of the main events on the SJdS calendar. Auto Nica, the major sponsor, once again donated a 30hp outboard motor as the grand prize. The much coveted tournament T shirts were on sale as usual and Emcee; Pedro “Radio Pollo” Lopez, from the market, put on another first-rate performance, warming up the crown prior to and during the presentation of the prizes.
