Eric Paine, Bill Boyd, Sean Robbins and Kevin Broderick, four Californians with a passion for the environment are on a 6 month trip of a lifetime from Newport Beach, California to Tierra del Fuego, Chile.

The truck is a specially adapted long bed Ford F350 crew cab truck. The 7.3 Litre turbo diesel engine has been converted to run off alternative fuels. For example, when the crew pulled into San Juan del Sur, they had been running on filtered, used, cooking oil they had collected from restaurants they had passed along the way! (Hence the title of our article.)
