continued from san juan del sur HOME It’s coming, and you can take that to the bank, The much anticipated reconstruction of the 19 kilometre stretch of road from La Virgen to San Juan del Sur is scheduled to start this month. The work is expected to take eight months and when completed will provide a welcome change from the crater sized pot holes and uneven surfaces that have plagued this stretch of road. As well as improving the road conditions, and the safety of pedestrians and cyclists, it will greatly enhance the first impression visitors have of San Juan del Sur, a major tourist destination. Funds for the new road, US$6.5 million dollars (120 million córdobas), have been provide by the World Bank. The Llansa-Nap Partnership has been selected to complete the work. The Project was officially announced in SJdS last month. The Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure (MTI) was on hand with members of the Llansa-Nap partnership to present the plan to the City of San Juan del Sur.
