Mayor's office give clean beaches top priority

It’s been a while since the river at the north end of the beach has broken; however, two heavy downpours within 24 hours that produced a total of 10 inches of rain soon changed that. As a result, everything that had been accumulating along and in the river was washed onto the beach.
Noel Lugo and Domingo Rivera rigged up a rope and used their old row boat to take people across the river when it broke at the end of August.

Hats off to the Alcaldia who wasted no time in assembling a crew to clean up the debris. The cleanliness of the beach is a top priority for the current administration. (The townsfolk were also impressed at the quick clean up after Easter Week.)

When I spoke with Marvin Bismarck Espinosa, Supervisor, Alcaldia, they had been cleaning up for 5 days. “We have one more day to go on the south side of the river and then the north side should take another week”
